Well I've sniffed around these boards for about 3-4 months now and I think I've literally ready EVERY post pertaining to what I'm doing next to my car over that time.

I just paid for a used (less then 5k miles on it) rev hard stage 2 turbo thats coming with extras including, inline fuel pump, missing link, turbo timer, boost gauge(and pod) and a few other things for $2280 shipped. I will be getting it installed hopefully next week depending on when it arrives, as it just left cali today on its way to NJ.

Just wanna thank everyone that helped me make my desiscion to go turbo (previously I wanted the JRSC but was told for the money and my motor the turbo would be a much better option for price/gain).

Just wish me luck and hopefully everything will go smoothly in the next few weeks, and there will be another boosted teg on the road (AUTOMATIC NON-THE-LESS!!!) hehe

You probably should have gone with a JRSC with an auto trans but thats just my opinion. Unless you are going to run very low boost on the turbo!!!!! That tranny is not going to hold for long

Well I'm taking a chance, apparently know one really knows for sure how it will hold. I plan 5-7psi boost. I also plan getting the tq converter rebuild at levelten ASAP after turbo install and I live locally and have already visited them and talked it over with them.

We'll see what kinda power a boosted auto can offer, as well as reliability.

Good luck fellow non-Vtec. I hope you can dive deeper into the 13's with a low boost turbo than I could with a low boost supercharger.

With an automatic, I would have gone with a roots supercharger. The non-vtec automatic Honda/Acuras do not have much low end power because its geared so high. With a turbo you have to spool it up to make power, so its not known for its low end torque, but rather high end/rpm HP. You are going to have to race it to 4500 rpm just to make 3-4psi. With a Roots you have that available by 2500rpm. Roots would have been a better steetable option.

But, prove us all wrong that a non-vtec, automatic turbo can be a contender. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well I've heard my turbo spools at around 2000rpm+ band and full boost is around 4-5rpm, so thats fine with me, considering the gains would be about close to 200whp+ at the psi I plan to run as opposed to 160whp with the JRSC. This is why I choose it, little to no turbo lag, and more options. We'll see. It will be a little while before its actually on the car but I have about 6 days of waiting left before the package is at my door... always sucks waiting [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Just one quick question! How much will it cost you to "build" that automatic tranny? This is just a guess... but it may be cheaper and more worth while to do a auto to manual conversion! Tell me what you plan to spend on the build and we could help you from there.

I'm gonna pay $1300 for the tq converter rebuild with bigger tranny pump and oil cooler. I have no intention of doing a swap as I don't trust any shops around here (or know any) in like a 50 mile radius... remember this is a dialy driven car so I'll stick with the auto and see what happens. I hear so much mixed stuff about honda autos I don't believe anyone anymore, people at the dealership included.

Well today is the big day, the car goes to the shop for 4 days to get the turbo installed, everyone wish me luck for saturday my car will come back boosted... I just hope she doesn't scare the pants off me when I pick her up.

Btw I went to RPM in queens NYC, they were recommended by numereous people throught the honda boards.
